In March we were due to exhibit the Studio’s collection of embroideries at Autograph Gallery. Although the pop-up exhibition is postponed for now, we’ve been working hard to bring the experience online.
We hear from Submit To Love artist Billy on how Studio closure impacted him and how together, the artist’s and staff, worked to bring some of the studio magic to Zoom.
In May we launched an exclusive ‘Home Not Alone’ t-shirt collection. Four Submit to Love artists were paired with an established external artist to collaborate on a new t-shirt design.

On Thursday 7th March, a selection of works by Headway members and artists Affiong Day, Cecil Waldron, Mohammed Sharif, Sam Jevon were exhibited at Autograph ABP Gallery as part of their Studio Showcase series.

We are thrilled to be running an interactive art workshop, as part of a wider Headway East London takeover at the Science Museum, exploring identity and life after brain injury.
In 2018, studio artists Chippy, Stephen & Matt collaborated on an installation that was exhibited in the window of nightclub VFD in Dalston for a month. Fellow studio regular Billy documented the process as it unfolded.
June 2018 saw Secret 7” take seven tracks from well-known musicians and invite creatives from around the world to interpret the tracks in their own style. With 700 artists on display, studio artist, Ken Hazeldine, was chosen with his take on the Jimi Hendrix track, Castles Made of Sand.

Headway East London are proud to be exhibiting a series of works and installations by artists who have survived brain injuries. Running from 3rd- 23rd August in Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall, Making Faces will explore the role of the physical and emotional in the formation of identity.
We are excited to invite you to differently various, our 10-day takeover of the iconic Barbican Curve Gallery.
