The Artist
Working with Jon is a personal experience – a close collaboration between him and the person supporting him. Jon has very limited movement and mostly communicates using head nods and eye gazing, so sensitivity is needed to pick up his preferences and opinions. His artistic style involves lots of thick paint, generously applied to board using a specially adapted brush, his hand supported by an assistant. We often look for images in magazines for inspiration, and Jon’s eye is always drawn to attractive women. We try to capture their beauty, but also to inject some humour into his work – Jon loves to have a laugh.
