For Christmas Open Studio 2024, we are excited to present a special collaboration between our artist John Myers and acclaimed artist and studio neighbour John Booth!

What started with John M’s quirky black marker drawings evolved into a vibrant exploration of collage as a medium.

During their sessions, John B introduced John M to the colourful art of layering paper, starting with gouache painting and gradually exploring pattern, colour, and the thoughtful placement of each shape, with their process unfolding more through action than words.

From these sessions, incredible pieces like the pelican and ostrich artworks emerged—blending John M's distinctive mark-making with John B's expertise in breathing life into collage.

Through this process, both artists have gained fresh perspectives and expanded their artistic skillsets.
