differently various

We are excited to invite you to differently various, a 10-day take over of the iconic Barbican Curve Gallery, form Saturday 29 July to Sunday 6 August.

“It will be an amazing, fun exhibition like no other!” - Firoza, artist

Our members and artists at Headway East London have been working with the Barbican team for over a year, alongside curation advisers Art et. Al and designers PUP Architects to co-produce a ground-breaking immersive installation, which will showcase and celebrate our community and the complexity and creativity of people living with brain injury.

“I’d like people to come away with what you can achieve after brain injury” - Sam, artist

At differently various, we will share stories about brain injury through unique artwork created in our studio alongside video, audio and print material. You will be able to join in and explore differently various through a free events programme, with members of our community offering tours, talks and workshops in the gallery alongside relaxed performances of music, dance, and film screenings.

Information about the events will be announced soon!

differently various is the culmination of of a 4-year partnership between the Barbican and Headway East London and has been made possible with support from the Heritage Fund.

It also coincides with the 25th birthday of Headway East London, marking 25 years of changing the lives of people living with brain injury.
