“When you have a stroke, you don’t lose your ability to have a view. I want people to know that they can make decisions about their treatment themselves.”

Trudy rose to the top of the nursing profession by her mid-twenties – the first phase of a brilliant career. Always seeking new challenges, she excelled at everything she turned her hand to. When she was rushed to hospital after a stroke one Christmas Eve, she found herself a patient: the most difficult role she’d ever had to take on.
