Who Are You Now: Brian's story
This week sees the latest publication on the Who Are You Now? website - telling the life stories of brain injury survivors.
Brian was just sixteen when he sustained a brain injury in a motorbike accident. Changed by his injury in profound and subtle ways, he found himself caught between a childhood he could scarcely remember and an uncertain future ahead.
This is the story of how he made a new life for himself - as a husband, a father and an artist. It's a story about the things that change us, the ways we shape and define ourselves, and the place of chance in life, love and art.
“It’s like a jigsaw, but it’s not jigsaw pieces that fit. It seems like I've spent all my life trying to fit the pieces that don't fit.”
